I am certified Level 5 ILM Effective Coaching and Mentoring and a BA hons QTS.

Career

In my early 20’s I changed career and became a teacher I studied for a degree in dance and education .I worked in education from mainstream teaching to early years and supply teaching and voluntarily in local educational groups.

I have been a dance and exercise teacher running small business for 25 years plus. Working with exercise, movement and dance organisations and governing bodies I have: taught, tutored and mentored and I have been a youth development officer. I particularly enjoy choreography and have done so for a wide range of occasions. from 100 participants at events at the Royal Albert Hall to specialist arts weeks in primary schools.

I describe my professional life as ‘made-to-measure’. Created around children and a husband that worked away from home.

Coaching

How does my early career help me be a coach?

Ultimately, like dance, it is about communication, humankind and an interest in your narrative.

Management of time, space and free thought, improvisation and creativity are valuable skills that help during difficult times.

Unlike teaching, I don’t have to tell anyone what to do or squeeze the ‘correct’ answer out of them. However, I still get to care for and further individuals’ lives.
